Frequently asked questions

Chrome says “Failed to load extension”
Select the folder that contains manifest.json — not the zip archive itself.
The extension disappeared after I restarted the browser
An unpacked extension lives in its folder. If you delete or move that folder, Chrome unloads it — keep it in a permanent place.
Does it work in Microsoft Edge?
Yes. Open edge://extensions and repeat the same steps — the UI is almost identical.
Do I need the Chrome Web Store?
No. The zip is the same build. When the Chrome Web Store listing goes live, install becomes one click.
Is this safe?
The extension has no network code: no analytics, no data upload. Cookies are read through the browser API and stay on your machine — privacy policy, permission breakdown.
